Botanical Name
Bulbine frutescens

Bulbinella is indigenous to South Africa. This perennial grows in full sun with well drained and composted soil. Frost tolerant, Bulbine is recognised by its rosette of fleshy, green/yellow leaves and clustered yellow/orange flowers.  Bulbinella is a favourite rockery plant as it is very hardy. Its medicinal uses are vast. The gel-like sap in the Bulbinella leaf is used to heal scrapes, burns, itches, ringworm, cracked lips and stings. It can also be used in shampoo as a moisturiser/conditioner.
