Varieties: Curly leaf, Flat leaf, Moss-curled
Parsley officially enjoys full sun and well-drained soil but in our hot Durban weather, semi shade and sufficient water are growing requirements for this biennial plant. Curly and flat leafed, is essential in garnish and in delicate dishes based on eggs, cheese, cream, chicken and vegetables. Flat leaf or Italian parsley has more flavour but Curly leaf is very attractive as a garnish. Fresh leaves are far preferable to dried.
