Nasturtiums are a favourite among gardeners. This is largely because they will grow just about anywhere. This is largely because Nasturtiums thrive in poor soil and grow well in full-sun or partial shade. Nasturtiums, while termed annuals, are constantly self-sewing so may be considered perennials (especially in low-frost areas).  There vibrant flowers, in red, orange and yellow are ornamental favourites. Nasturtium leaves are used in salads and the flowers are used as garnish. Medicinally, the leaves have antiseptic and digestive properties. To combat a sore throat one can eat a few nasturtium leaves.
