Marjoram is a hardy perennial which thrives in well-drained soil in sun. Marjoram and Greek Oregano are small bushes while the common Oregano creeps. Marjoram is a member of the Oregano family and, like Oregano can be used in Tomato dishes, pizzas, pastas, salads, salad dressings, meat, game, chicken, and most other types of cooking. Marjoram has a more delicate flavour than Oregano and should be added at the end of cooking while Oregano can be added early on. Marjoram is very pleasant in herb butter.
