Cymbopogon citratus

Also known as Citronella grass and fever grass.


Lemon Grass requires light soil in full sun. It can be grown from division in autumn although one clump is generally all that is required for household use. Lemon grass reaches a height of 1m. This is a tough perennial that should be finely chopped before cooking. It gives delicious flavour to stir fry, soup, stews and curries, especially to those made with chicken and fish.
